ETO FC Győr take Women's Hungarian glory for fourth time in a row

Balázs Dörnyei's team scored a late equaliser against opponents MTK at the New Nándor Hidegkuti Stadium to make the scoreline 2-2, before then prevailing 3-1 in a penalty shootout. This means ETO FC Győr win the Simple Női kupa for the fourth consecutive time and hand Dörnyei a tenth Women's Hungarian Cup title of his storied managerial career so far.
MTK, last year's beaten finalists in this competition, wasted little time in opening the scoring, Cecília Mészáros diverting a pass from the right into the Győr net for a 14-minute lead, which would be doubled just eight minutes later, when Diána Csányi's shot found its way past ETO goalkeeper Barbar Bíró.
Fanni Vachter halved the deficit in the 37th minute though and although MTK battled bravely to protect their lead for nearly an hour, Csilla Savanya's 94th-minute drive finally levelled matters for the reigning Simple Női kupa holders. There was still time for MTK to nearly snatch a remarkable winner, but they didn't quite manage a fairytale ending and Győr took full advantage, winning the ensuing penalty shootout 3-1 to win their fourth Hungarian Cup in as many years.
