You can apply for the volunteer positions from the 25th of January 2023 via this application form.
Approximately 500 volunteers will be part of the volunteer team, but we hope to expect many more applications. We will send the call for volunteers to partners and stakeholder groups to reach as many people as possible to apply.
The first volunteers will start on the 22nd of May and the last ones will finish their shifts on the 2nd of June. Most of the volunteers will be on shift on the matchday which is on the 31st of May. The number of shifts required you can find below by the role descriptions.
Application is open to everyone above 18 years. If you were born before the 10th of May 2005, then you are good to apply. Some positions may need specific requirements too.
There are 16 domains with various volunteer roles available, from Accreditation to Mobility, Transport and Media there is a wide range of volunteer positions available. You can find out more about the available positions below at Role Discriptions. Please note that each role has different needs, in terms of language skills, availability, and other role specific skills.
We carefully screen all applications, then we will invite the selected candidates to an interview. After a successful interview we will send out our role recommendations which you shall accept to become a volunteer. Soon after this, we will prepare your shift schedule and send it out to you.
Don’t panic, if you were not selected for your desired volunteer position. We will keep you in the loop and contact you when we have a suitable position for you.
Interviews will be conducted from February on, mostly in the afternoons and weekends in person. When selected for an interview, you will have several interview times to choose from.
Yes, if you volunteered at EURO2020, you will still be interviewed, but to make it a little bit smoother for you, you will only be offered online interviews. In the application form, you can point out that you volunteered at EURO2020, and you can also tell us about your experience gained there so we know more about your experience as a volunteer.
Absolutely not. If you haven’t volunteered before, we would love to encourage you to apply. In the application form, you can state whether you have previous volunteer experience in or out of the sports world, what skills, experiences or other strengths you have.
Yes, you can apply. Please bear in mind, that we do not cover any travel expenses you may have between your hometown and Budapest and no accommodation is offered to volunteers.
Unfortunately, we are unable to cover travel expenses (from your hometown to Budapest and back) nor accommodation for the time of volunteering. Within Budapest we will provide public transportation tickets for you to get to your shifts.
Yes, all volunteers on shift will receive free food and water.
Yes, all volunteers will receive a set of uniform which you can keep after the event. The uniform will include branded t-shirts, a jumper, a cap and a backpack.

Yes, all volunteers will receive a general training before the event starts and each volunteer will receive a role specific training too to ensure you are all equipped to fulfil your assigned role.

Match tickets will NOT be provided to the volunteers. Please bear in mind that the main priority of the volunteer is to fulfil their volunteer roles and it is very likely that you will be on your mission during the game. For those who are not on a mission during the game, we will establish a match viewing spot in the volunteer centre.
