Four debutants in latest Hungary Men's Squad

"As I mentioned before at around the time of the (Euro 2024 qualifying) draw in Frankfurt and the November matches, it is very important to us that as many of our players as possible are healthy and play regularly at club level", Hungary head coach Marco Rossi to mlsz.hu. "Unfortunately, we aren't doing too well in this area at the moment, so four newcomers will get their chance in this current squad, and János Ferenczi will also be with us again. However, we know we don't really have the opportunity to experiment, because we want to use the first match against Estonia to prepare as well as possible for the second match against Bulgaria. We last played four months ago, so it's important to rebuild the necessary routines during the warm-up match".

Hungary's squad members will meet in Telki on 20th March ahead of the friendly versus Estonia which kicks off in the Puskás Arena at 7:30pm on the 23rd, and another home fixture in the same stadium on the 27th when, at 8:45pm, they'll host Bulgaria in the first European Championship qualifying match of the new campaign.

"Bulgaria appointed a new national team head coach four matches ago", Rossi continued. "That change has also resulted in a new playing system and concept. They play much more aggressively, defend higher and play more proactively. The same is true for the Estonian national team in terms of the playing system and style, which is exactly why we chose them as our opponent for this current warm-up match, because the match against them can provide us with a lot of useful experience to use in our preparations for the match against Bulgaria".

Tickets for both matches are still available at valogatottjegy.mlsz.hu.
