Rookies and returnees feature in latest Hungary men's squad

Zalaegerszeg defender Attila Mocsi has received his first Hungarian international call-up for the squad's final two Nations' League fixtures later this month, but he won't be joined by injured duo Zsolt Nagy and Roland Sallai, who miss out on both the away game against Germany and the home match against Italy.

Kevin Varga was not included in the squad for June's Nations League matches, but after his change of club in the summer, the versatile wide player is back playing regularly so Hungary head coach Marco Rossi is glad to count on him once more. This time, again, there are potential debutants in the forms of Milos Kerkez and Attila Mocsi.

Hungary squad:

Goalkeepers:

Dénes Dibusz (Ferencváros)
Péter Gulácsi (RB Leipzig)
Péter Szappanos (Budapest Honvéd)

Defenders:

Bendegúz Bolla (Grasshopper Club Zurich)
Endre Botka (Ferencváros)
Attila Fiola (MOL Fehérvár)
Ákos Kecskés (LASK)
Ádám Lang (Omonia Nicosia)
Attila Mocsi (ZTE)
Willi Orbán (RB Leipzig)
Attila Szalai (Fenerbahce)

Midfielders:

Péter Baráth (DVSC)
Milos Kerkez (AZ Alkmaar)
László Kleinheisler (NK Osijek)
Ádám Nagy (AC Pisa)
Loic Nego (MOL Fehérvár)
András Schäfer (Union Berlin)
Callum Styles (Millwall)
Bálint Vécsei (Ferencváros)

Forwards:

Ádám Martin (Ulsan Hyundai)
Dániel Gazdag (Philadelphia Union)
Ádám Szalai (Basel)
Dominik Szoboszlai (RB Leipzig)
Zalán Vancsa (Lommel)
Kevin Varga (Hatayspor)

As already known, neither Roland Sallai nor Zsolt Nagy will be available for selection by Rossi due to injury, a big blow given that they were responsible for four of the six goals we scored in June's Nations League matches.

"Unfortunately, we already have experience in solving such difficult situations, such as the forced replacement of several of our key players" Rossi admitted to mlsz.hu. "The replacement of Roland Sallai and Zsolt Nagy will be a difficult task but, as in previous cases, we will do everything we can to deal with it as successfully as possible. I have maximum confidence in all my players, as none of them are in the squad by accident. This time we also have newcomers - last time Kerkez was only on the bench, but this time he can even earn a debut - and Attila Mocsi is also a new member of the squad. We want to continuously invite deserving young players to get used to the standard of such serious international matches.

This time, Rossi has selected 25 players for the squad, who will first take on Germany on 23rd September in Leipzig before hosting Italy three days later in the Puskás Arena.

"We know the level and strengths of our opponents. I think Germany is the toughest team we could have faced. Six or seven of their players are regulars for Bayern Munich, and everyone can see what the Bavarian team is capable of. It will be very difficult against Germany and Italy, but, as ever, we will do everything to make their job as difficult as possible so our fans can be proud of us again".

Hungary's Nations League group standings:

1. Hungary 7 points
2. Germany 6
3. Italy 5
4. England 2
