Rossi and Csányi to continue until 2030

Marco Rossi will continue as Hungary Men's head coach until June 2030 after signing a contract extension, it was announced today at the Hungarian Football Federation's annual general meeting by the governing body's president Sándor Csányi, who has also been re-elected for another five-year term.

Since Rossi's tenure began in 2018, he has guided Hungary to consecutive UEFA European Championship finals and two Nations League promotions, the second of which led to a two-edition stay amongst Europe's elite nations in Division A and famous home and away victories against England, as well as a 1-0 triumph over Germany away in Leipzig.

“I am very honoured to be shown this special confidence and to extend my contract until 2030. I would like to congratulate President Sándor Csányi for his re-election. This confidence also means huge responsibility, knowing the expectations placed on us. As always, I will do my best to fulfil and possibly even exceed them,” Rossi said after the announcement.

Sándor Csányi, meanwhile, will also remain in his position until at least the end of June 2030, by which point he will have completed two decades of service to Hungarian football since his first election success in 2010. This period has marked a significant investment in and regeneration of the national game, the first international signs of which came with Hungary's qualification for Euro 2016 in France, their first appearance at a major international football tournament for 30 years. There, they topped their group and qualified for the knockout stages.
