Ferencváros' women's team made an impressive debut in the Groupama Arena with a 6-1 win over Racing FC Union of Luxembourg which sealed their progress to the second qualifying round of the Champions League, the draw for which will be held by UEFA on 6 November.

Women's Champions League Qualifying Round 1
Ferencváros 6–1 Racing FC Union (Luxembourg) (HT: 4-1)
Goalscorers: Ivanusa (6), Vágó (7, 62), Pusztai (42, 45+3), Cameron (58) RAC: Machado (25)

Two goals in the first seven minutes gave FTC-Telekom a reassuring, early advantage in the first qualifying match of their 2020/21 Champions League campaign, the first coming when Ivanusa rolled Tiffany Cameron's left-wing cross into the goal. A minute later, Fanni Vágó deceived the opposing goalkeeper and planted the ball into the net to double her side's lead.

The team from Luxembourg halved the deficit in the 25th minute when Silva Machado took advantage of uncertainty amongst the Fradi defenders but that was as good as it got for the visitors, Sára Pusztai restoring the hosts' two-goal cushion in the 42nd minute and then extending that advantage to three in first-half stoppage time.

Although clearly just as dominant in the second half, Ferencváros only succeeded in scoring twice more, through Tiffany Cameron in the 51st minute, and just after the hour mark courtesy of Fanni Vágó's second goal, thus the 6-1 final result was set.

The draw for the next round will be held at midday this Friday from 12 noon, the winners of the ties in the next round qualifying for the last 32 of the competition.

"We got a little over-excited at the beginning of the match and started a little nervously. I think we could have won by a bigger margin but I missed the balance from our team’s game. Our level of play was enough for (victory in) today’s match, but we are sure to face a much stronger opponent in the next qualifying round. We need to improve in every element of the game, in defence and the transition from defence to attack, and we need to play football more calmly," admitted Balázs Dörnyei, head coach of FTC-Telekom, who added that it had been a very special experience to have played in the Groupama Arena.
