FTC-Telekom lift sixth consecutive Hungarian league title

FTC-Telekom have secured their sixth Hungarian women's league championship title in a row following victory in the second match of the 2025 Simple Női Liga final. Flórián Albert's team defeated ETO FC Győr, who had topped the standings at the end of the regular league season, 2–0 in the Groupama Arena.
The match, which produced few chances, was dominated by the defending champions, who have reached top form at just the right time towards the end of the championship season. Ferencváros had more possession of the ball, especially in the first half, and ultimately won the entire championship final without falling behind for a single minute, having won last Thursday's first match 1-0, thanks to Vanessza Nagy's goal. Győr's most promising opportunity in this second fixture came courtesy of a free kick by Csilla Savanya, which was brilliantly saved by Milica Kostic (the Serbia International goalkeeper who has kept a clean sheet for the past 607 minutes, including the end of the regular league season).
The first goal came in the 18th minute, when Viktória Nagy tricked her way into a sight of goal before dispatching tha ball past Győr goalkeeper Barbara Bíró. FTC's second goal came in the last action of the first half, when Alesia Garcia collided with a Győr defender inside the penalty area, then managed to kick the ball which fell kindly in front of her into the net.
No further score meant Ferencváros became champions for the sixth consecutive time and the eighth occasion in total. Since 2018, no other team has won the women's championship, ETO finishing second in each of the past four editions. The two most important prizes in domestic women's football have been distributed in the same way as in 2024, FTC-Telekom winning the championship, while ETO lifted the Simple Women's Cup.
