Prime-Ministerial reception ahead of Puskás Aréna inauguration
Photo: Miniszterelnöki Sajtóiroda / Fischer Zoltán UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin is visiting Hungary on the occasion of the Puskás Aréna's inauguration and ahead of the event, he, along with MLSZ President and UEFA Vice-President Sándor Csányi, was a special guest of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at Karmelita Abbey. The main topic of the discussion was how one of Europe's most modern stadia would be the venue for four matches in next year's UEFA European Championship.
The Prime Minister and the two leading figures of the sport discussed the current state of Hungarian football and its future, as well giving due attention to the significance to Hungarian and international football of the Puskás Aréna's inauguration.
Prior to their meeting, the Prime Minister had hosted a ceremony for the leaders of national football associations who are visiting as guests from abroad. After the reception, Aleksander Ceferin visited the Parliament building where he was welcomed by Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, László Kövér. A little later, Dr Csányi presented UEFA's President with a Puskás Aréna tribute plaque while Prime Minister Orbán gifted Ceferin a Hungarian international jersey.
