Astra and Ferencváros reach Women's Cup final

The identities of the two Hungarian Women's Cup finalists for 2021 are now known after Astra defeated DVTK away from home and Ferencváros posted a four-goal victory against MTK.

Lilla Sipos gave Astra the lead in the 21st minute of their the semi-final, only for hosts DVTK to equalise before the half-time break through Melinda Nagy in the 35th minute. Just after the hour mark, Lilla Sipos re-established her team's advantage, which was then extended by Emese Szakonyi's 83rd-minute penalty, Astra eventually winning 3-1 in Diósgyőr's stadium. Astra have made it to the final for the first time since 2013.

The other semi-final was won by FTC-Telekom at the Kocsis Sándor Sports Centre, where MTK had been the opponent. Fanni Vágó's goal gave the home team a sixth-minute lead which was doubled 15 minutes later when Barbara Szemán-Tóth put through her own goal. In 36th minute, Marques Vanessa also found the net, giving Fradi a confident half-time advantage. MTK didn't manage to score in the second half either, but Ferencváros added one more, Fanni Vágó's second goal setting the final result at 4-0 in the 66th minute. Fradi are the defending champions and could win their sixth Hungarian Women's Cup in a row in this year’s final. Astra and FTC-Telekom will meet in the final on 5th May.
