EURO 2020 Volunteer Programme launched

Volunteers will play an important role in ensuring that the 2020 European Championship is a quality, memorable experience for fans. The volunteers are the faces of UEFA EURO 2020 and will be in direct contact with fans and visitors; they will support the implementation of event programmes from accreditation to events, transport to media and from ticket and match organisation to meeting the needs of spectators.

The goal of UEFA is to ensure that all organising countries take an active part in the volunteer programme, that the volunteers selected are part of an unforgettable experience and that they convey a positive image of football and encourage others to volunteer.

“It’s a tremendous thing in itself that Budapest can be home to the European Championship next year”, said Volunteer Ambassador for Budapest, Krisztián Lisztes. “At the same, the opportunity to be an active participant and enjoy such a great experience from the inside is even more fantastic. I’m delighted to be among the volunteers because I’m sure that next year’s European Championship in Budapest will provide a wonderful experience to all those who will be involved in some way. Volunteers, besides helping fans enjoy the experience of a lifetime, will also be part of a similar experience. I am sure that there will be a great atmosphere in the volunteer camp and that life-long friendships will be forged during the European Championship”, the former Ferencváros and Hungary midfielder added.

Who may apply for the volunteer programme?

- Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old as of 1 May 2020

- Must be able to speak English at least to conversational level

- Must make themselves available for interview, training period and for shifts
