Marco Rossi: Luxembourg match was valuable lesson

Following Thursday evening's 2-2 draw against Luxembourg, Hungary men's head coach Marco Rossi emphasised that everyone should understand his team can only be effective if they play flawlessly and with maximum concentration.

Rossi admitted he'd seen encouraging signs of progress on the pitch, but that if the team makes as many mistakes in the future as in this match, any opponent will prove difficult to overcome:

"The most important lesson is that some people may think that we're better than we really are. We have a good team, but if we don't have 100 percent concentration and play without mistakes, we will encounter difficult matches, whichever opponent we face. We made a mistake at the beginning of the match and gave the opponent a one-goal advantage. Then, at 2-1, we allowed the home team to recover by committing another big mistake, having not converted chances we'd had before that. I have to discuss many things with the players, because everyone has to know that in order to win, they will have to give 100 percent on the pitch and if not, it will be just as difficult against Bulgaria, Montenegro and Lithuania. I saw encouraging things on the pitch, but it must be admitted that we made too many mistakes, and if Dibusz didn't make a great save at 2-2, we could even have lost the match. We have to keep our feet on the ground, we have to work, we have to be focused, and we can't think for a second that victories will come easily. This match was a good lesson, because it showed that we need to improve".
