MLSZ orders all matches to be played behind closed doors
Following Wednesday's extraordinary decision by the national government, the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) has ordered that all football matches in Hungary from Thursday onwards be played behind closed doors until the state of emergency has been withdrawn. Spectators will therefore not be able to watch matches live but instead the matches will be televised.
The restriction means that only players and team staff can be present at matches, in addition to a core group of police, while M4 Sport and m4sport.hu will continue to broadcast their matches. MLSZ informed clubs in a letter on Wednesday afternoon of the conditions under which professional and amateur matches should be held in order to maintain public health.
The Federation has also suspended all events, tournaments and festivals associated with its grassroots programmes (OTP Bank Bozsik Programme, Fair Play Cup and other social programmes) for an indefinite period.
