UEFA EURO 2020 tickets on sale a year in advance
Fans have a month in which to submit their ticket requests for the 2020 European Championship. Match tickets are available in three different price categories, with the lucky ticket holders being drawn via a ballot by UEFA from among those requesting tickets.
There are eight capital cities and 11 stadiums with a capacity greater than 50,000 among the 12 host venues, which means that a record three million tickets will be available to fans at EURO 2020.
Fans can register for tickets for the tournament, being held on the 60th anniversary of the first European Championship, from 14:00 on 12 June until 12 July, a year ahead of the championship, at the UEFA ticketing webpage.
Should the number of ticket requests exceed the amount of tickets available, tickets will be allocated by way of a ballot from those registering their interest in tickets. There’s no need to rush though, as your chances of success are independent from when you registered your interest.
The majority of tickets will be allocated during this time period, with only a limited amount of remaining tickets available in the run-up to the European Championship, meaning that if you wish to be there at the European Championship, including in the Puskás Aréna, then you have until 12 July to request tickets.
UEFA will keep aside tickets for fans of those teams qualifying for the tournament, and these briefs will be made available following the end of the European Qualifiers, from December and, in the case of those teams qualifying via the Nations League play-offs, in April next year.
Tickets are available in three price categories at every venue. Tickets are available for the matches in Budapest for €125, €75, and €30.
Fans can choose from two kind of ticket packages: Individual tickets for a given match at a given stadium, and “Follow my team” tickets which will be available from December 2019 – in this case fans can follow their team all the way through the tournament irrespective of the match venues. Should the given team be knocked out, the full amount for tickets not required will be reimbursed to fans.
UEFA is also selling numerous tickets for disabled fans at unified price. These tickets will always belong to the cheapest ticket category, irrespective of where the seats are in the stadium. Additionally, those accompanying disabled fans will also be ensured a free ticket.
Fans may request a maximum of four tickets per match. Match tickets will bear the name of the purchaser, and stewards at the stadium will check to ensure that those entering the venue are the person(s) entitled to do so.
Ten lucky Hungary fans who are members of the MLSZ Supporter’s Club are already certain of being there in the Puskás Aréna, having won category 1 tickets for the opening match in Budapest and being handed their tickets by Zoltán Gera and Portuguese legends Luis Figo and Nuno Gomes at the Aréna during the UEFA ticket launch last month.
A wide range of hospitality packages are also available. For information about these can be found at the euro2020.com/hospitality webpage
