Unstoppable Fradi crowned women's league champions for fifth time in a row

A Jadyn Edwards hat-trick inspired FTC-Telekom to perhaps their best performance of the season as they defeated ETO FC 4-0 in the third leg of their league championship final at home in the Groupama Aréna on Sunday evening and, in the process, secured the 2023-24 Hungarian league title.

ETO started well and soon created two promising opportunities but Ferencváros soon snuffed out the danger by taking the lead as early as the 10th minute, Edwards scoring from outside the penalty area.

Fradi dominated from thereon in, American Edwards doubling their advantage from a rebound just before the end of the first half and the January transfer signing completing her hat-trick 11 minutes into the second period by converting Anna Turóczy's precise, left-wing cross.

A 74th- minute Csilla Savanya own goal completed ETO's misery and rounded off the scoring for Flórián Albert's team, who, having lost the first leg of the final, won the following two matches and thereby ensured they'd claim their fifth consecutive Hungarian league championship. ETO of Győr, meanwhile, could only find solace in their attacker Fanni Vachter winning the league's top goalscorer award.
