Women's football attracting greater interest

After nearly 50,000 viewers watched the recent Hungary v Sweden FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier live on television, the Förch Women's Hungarian Cup final and Jet-Sol League Championship final tie will also be broadcast live.

The recent past has seen M4 Sport channel broadcast the matches of the Hungarian women's national team which is led by Edina Markó. The country's female footballers have paid back this trust by achieving viewing figures of 47,343 (according to AMR) for the recent afternoon FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sweden which the Scandinavian nation won 4-1.

It is now the case that the same television channel will broadcast the Förch Women's Cup final between Ferencváros and DVTK at 20:00 on Thursday 26th April in the New Nándor Hidegkuti stadium, as well as the Jet-Sol Liga championship final tie.

Ferencváros, with their numerous Hungarian full- and youth internationals and other quality players, have reached the best-of-three-matches JET-SOL Liga final for the fourth time and although Balázs Dörnyei's team have scored the most goals and conceded the least thus far, they will know from last year's experience of winning both matches in the final that anything can happen! The team which will join Fradi in this year's final will be either MTK, debutants DVTK or the youthful Győr team.

Match 1: Thursday 17 May, 16:00
Match 2: Thursday 24 May, 16:45
Match 3: (if necessary) Friday 1 June, 16:00

As well as the live coverage of these key matches, there is a popular weekly half-hour television show on a Wednesday afternoon covering the most recent league matches and all the most important events going on in women's football.
