Zsófia Rácz takes charge of Hungary Women's U19s

Hungary Women's U19s will play their European Championship Main Round qualifiers under the leadership of former senior national-team assistant coach Zsófia Rácz.

Rácz, who earned more than a hundred caps for Hungary as a player, will take over the role vacated by Alexandra Szarvas, who is now the senior team’s permanent head coach.

Rácz has already announced the squad for next week's European Championship qualifiers which Hungary will host, no potential debutants featuring this time for a tournament which will see Rácz’s team play Sweden at 15:00 CET on 3rd April, Germany at 15:00 on 6th April and Romania at 17:30 on 9th April, all at the Telki Training Centre. M4 Sport will broadcast the last match of the U19 team's Euro qualifiers against Romania live and admission to all the matches is free.

"It’s an honour to be chosen to lead the U19 national team. I was very happy to accept the offer, because it's been one of my plans to manage a team as a head coach, but I didn't think it'd happen so soon. As for the European qualifiers, we’re not placed in an easy group, Sweden and Germany both being ranked higher internationally while the Romanian national team are also capable footballers. Our primary goal is to extend our membership of the A League and to score as many points as possible, but for this, we have to play to our best in every single match," Rácz concluded.
