Ádám Lang: We need to be courageous against Serbia
The Hungary men's full national team has started preparations for its friendly matches at home against Serbia on Thursday, and away against Northern Ireland next Tuesday.
A short press conference held before Monday's training session was attended by Ádám Lang, who plays his club football for Cyprus' Omonia Nicosia, and one of the national team's newcomers, Péter Baráth of Debrecen. After a long absence, Lang has only recently returned to action, but he has already got back in the swing of things and is now ready again to pull on the national jersey.
"It was my longest spell on the sidelines so far, but my rehabilitation went well and I already feel in perfect physical condition. I've fond memories of the last national team, which still live on in me, and I try to draw strength from this ahead of the next matches. Serbia is a team full of world stars which became more united after the change of head coach and is now much stronger than two years ago. It gives us extra motivation to have such a strong rival waiting for us, so it’s important that we enjoy our football and play against them in a united and courageous style", Lang said.
Meanwhile, Péter Baráth has been called up to the full national squad for the first time, his next goal being to make his full international debut:
"I was surprised to be called up to the national team, but it was a huge boost to achieve this while still a young man. I want to take the opportunity and show in every training session that I can be counted upon. I'm confident that I will be able to do a good job for the national team", Baráth commented.
Of the members of the squad, only the delegation who play for RB Leipzig in Germany has not arrived in Telki, all the other players having already attended training on Monday afternoon. Specifically, six of them underwent a regeneration session, while the rest were coached by head coach Marco Rossi on the centre pitch of the Telki Training centre.
