Last-16 places at stake in the Hungarian Cup
After MTK's and Fehérvár's progression on Tuesday, a further 13 matches in the 8th round of the Hungarian Cup will be held on Wednesday, with Ferencváros travelling to Békéscsaba in the pick of the ties.
Top-tier teams are still kept apart in the 8th round of the Hungarian Cup, but they can be pitted against second-division opposition. With 12 teams from the OTP Bank league and 11 from the 2nd tier, the Merkantil Bank League, there are several battles between teams from the top two divisions. In addition to the two such clashes on Tuesday, (MTK defeating DVTK and Szeged losing out to Fehérvár, both after extra-time), Vác-Újpest, ETO FC Győr-Mezőkövesd and Békéscsaba-Ferencváros will also be on Wednesday.
There is only one county-level club left in the competition, Szarvas of Békés County, and they will takeon Zalaegerszeg of the top division.
The clash between Ózd Kohász and Kaposvár Rákóczi will not take place due to Ózd folding as a club. Kaposvár will progress via a walkover.
The draw for the last 16 will be made after Wednesday's Békéscsaba-Ferencváros match.
