Men's Hungarian Cup: Honvéd to host Haladás in last 16

There are no longer any seedings at this stage of the Hungarian Cup, meaning that OTP Bank teams could be drawn against each other, but it's by no means certain there'll be such a tie in the last 16.

Four-time Hungarian Cup winner András Telek conducted the eighth-final draw late on Wednesday evening. At this stage, each tie is comprised of home and away legs with extra time and penalties potentially necessary if teams are level on aggregate goals at the end of normal time in the second leg.

Teams drawn first in each tie play their home leg first with the return match being played at the home of the team drawn second. The first legs will be played on 12th February 2020 and the second legs on 19th February.

The Vác–Újpest and Dorog–Debrecen contests in round 8 were postponed due to adverse pitch conditions and have been rearranged for Wednesday 11th December. Indeed, the only all-top-tier tie could be between Újpest and MOL Fehérvár ifthe former make it through. Finally, Ózdi Kohász SC have been excluded from the league's third tier and therefore the Hungarian Cup too by the MLSZ's Disciplinary Committee but they are still permitted to appeal against this decision, so the progression of their planned opponents Kaposvár from round 8 is still to be confirmed.
