New Nations League to use tighter schedule

UEFA's decision on Wednesday hasn't changed much in terms of the Nations League's organisation compared to the inaugural first edition in 2018-19, but the second edition will be held over a shorter time period. Marco Rossi's team will be drawn in League B and this will affect the Euro 2020 play-offs too.

The first two matchdays of the Nations League will be held between 3rd and 8th September 2020, after which each country will play three further fixtures over the FIFA matchdays in October and November. This will be arranged in such a way that the Euro 2020 play-offs will start the 'Football Week'.

Hungary's play-off semi-final versus Bulgaria is scheduled for 8th October and in the event of progression past this stage, Rossi's squad will host the winner of the other semi-final between Iceland and Romania in the Puskás Aréna on 12th November 2020.
