Europa League: Fradi suffer in Seville
Real Betis scored a goal in each half to send Ferencváros home pointless after the fifth round of the Europa League group stage.
Betis didn't take much time to get going, immediately attacking the Hungarian champions and taking the lead in the fifth minute. Fradi gave as good as they got, but they couldn't turn that pluckiness into goals, albeit Betis were also unable to beat Dénes Dibusz and increase their advantage.
That all changed seven minutes into the second half though, when Canales superbly fired into the net to double the hosts' lead. Although Ferencváros battled hard they never really threatened the opponents' goal and thus left Spain bereft of any points.
Real Betis have now secured progression to the knockout stages along with Bayer Leverkusen, who triumphed against Celtic in the other match in the group. It's already certain that Ferencváros will finish the group in fourth spot and exit the competition, but they'll look to salvage some pride on 9th December against the group winners Bayer Leverkusen.
