Europa League: Fradi to face Ludogorets of Bulgaria in knockout stages
Reigning Hungarian league champions Ferencváros have been drawn to play Ludogorets of Bulgaria in the play-off knockout round of the UEFA Europa League after the draw was made on Friday afternoon in Nyon.
There had been the possibility of drawing Scottish champions Celtic, but in the end Robbie Keane's team have been drawn against another familiar opponent, Ludogorets, whom they faced in Champions League qualifying and in the Europa League group stage both earlier this season and six years ago in season 2019/20.
Earlier, Fradi had concluded their league phase by losing their unbeaten eight-match unbeaten run in Europe, a 4-0 loss away at Nottingham Forest in England, meaning they have finished 12th out of 36 teams. Should Keane's charges negotiate their way past Ludogorets again, they will face one of Porto or Sporting Braga, both of whom are from Portugal.
