Ferencváros to face Swedish champions in first Champions League qualifer
The Green and Whites will play at home against Djurgårdens in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.
Ferencváros were seeded in Monday's draw at UEFA's House of Football in Nyon, but have been pitted against one of the strongest unseeded teams, Djurgårdens IF of Sweden, who won their 2019 domestic league title by just one point ahead of Malmö and Hammarby.
In the 2020 Swedish championship, they started slowly and were fourth with 23 points after 13 games, but their form has gradually improved and they have won each of their most recent three matches. The tie will be decided by a single match in the Groupama Aréna at 20:00 CET on Wednesday 19th August with the winners facing a trip to either Glasgow Celtic of Scotland or KR Reykavik of Iceland in the third qualifying round a week later.
