Gera holds three-day training camp for U21 squad
Hungary Men's Under-21 coach Zoltán Gera held a training camp with his squad this week, which included one training session on Monday, two on Tuesday and a training match on Wednesday to conclude proceedings.
Hungary Men's U21 national squad will play their first friendly matches of the current year next month when they take on Finland on 26th March and Russia four days later, both fixtures due to take place in Spain. Ahead of the trip, head coach Zoltán Gera and his backroom staff held this three-day training camp for his provisional squad in Telki. There were a number of player absences due to injury and club commitments but called up in their places were younger players born in 2001 who were members of last autumn's U19 national squad.
"I'm happy that we've been able check out new players, amongst them some younger footballers, and moreover that several of them have been able to prove to us that we should bear them in mind in the future. We hadn't met with these squad members for a good while so it was useful to refresh our knowledge of tactic elements we'd previously practised and to prepare a little for the first international matches of the year against the Finnish and the Russians", Gera said in summary of this week's camp.
