Heads of UEFA and FIFA congratulate Csányi

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and UEFA President Alexander Čeferin have sent their congratulations to Dr Sándor Csányi on his re-election at MLSZ's annual general meeting on Tuesday

At Tuesday's online annual general meeting of the Hungarian Football Federation (the first time a European football federation has ever held its AGM in this way) the delegates unanimously re-elected Sándor Csányi as its president, a position he has held since 2010. Following the election, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin and Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, both offered their congratulations to Csányi, who also holds the position of Vice-President in both international governing bodies.

In his congratulatory letter, Čeferin emphasised that in the last ten years, the Hungarian federation led by Sándor Csányi had posted significant results and the country's football has made great strides in terms of infrastructure and achievements. The President of UEFA also thanked Csányi for his outstanding work in the leadership of UEFA and for his help in the development of European football.

"I would like to express my sincere thanks for his valuable work in the leadership of UEFA. His role in the UEFA Executive Committee, the Professional Football Strategy Council and the Finance Committee is of paramount importance", Čeferin said.

Similarly, FIFA President Gianni Infantino wished the MLSZ much success over the course of the coming years and sent his best wishes for more good work to MLSZ vice-president Sándor Berzi and his fellow members of the MLSZ Executive Committee, who have all been present since 2015 and whom were all re-elected at this week's AGM.
