Hungary Men: More players join up with Rossi's squad

Ádám Szalai and Attila Szalai have followed Ákos Kecskés in arriving in Telki, all three Hungary men's national squad members joining their teammates for Friday morning's training session.

In the first half of the week, ten outfield players and two goalkeepers were the sum total of participants in head coach Marco Rossi's training camp at the national training centre in Telki, and after the first day, Attila Fiola trained separately from his teammates due to slight muscle fatigue. On Thursday, Ákos Kecskés joined the squad and he was followed a day later by Ádám Szalai and Attila Szalai , all three in good enough shape to plunge straight into the next practice.

Prior to Friday’s training, Attila Fiola said he had only missed a few days' training as a precaution, and would soon be training with the rest of the squad again:

"We won't be the favourites in our matches in June, but we've shown in the past that we can stand a chance against anyone in a match if everyone produces their best performance and we play as a team all the way. We have to play bravely, as we did at the European Championships against France and Germany", Fiola admitted.

Meanwhile, Fenerbache defender Attila Szalai struggled with a shoulder injury in the spring, but is now completely healthy and looking forward to rejoining the national team.

I’m glad I’m healthy again and can be here with the team, since I’ve been working a lot lately. I've worked very hard to get myself in the best possible physical condition for the first Nations League match", the 24-year-old defender commented. "I'm sure we'll play well in our matches, and for this, we'll also need our fans, whom we hope will fill the Puskás Arena against Germany. It’s gratifying that children will be able to cheer us on against England too, as it will be much better to play in front of them than behind closed doors. All three of our opponents in June are huge (football nations) but we had the good fortune to play against Germany and England last year, and we showed in London as well as in Munich that we can take a share of the spoils with good performances. That will be our goal now."
