A determined Zalaegerszeg started the better of the two teams and repeatedly took the attack to Ferencváros, who perhaps looked a little tired after their Europa League draw against Espanyol in Barcelona three days earlier. Former Fradi striker András Radó missed two good chances in the first half-hour, although one of them was cleared off the line but the hosts did go ahead before the break, Ikoba scoring with a sweet finish. It is telling that the visitors didn't have a shot on target in the first half but the Green and Whites came out with a much more dynamic game after the break, albeit they failed to really trouble the home defence. That is until Roland Varga's penalty struck the crossbar. That enlivened ZTE who gained confidence and counter-attacked with zest, but a late corner changed the course of the game, substitute Leandro equalising in the 88th minute before Nguen sealed the points with a fine effort after capitalising on some hesitancy the home team's backline.
