Márton Oross moves to MLSZ

The former Illés Akadémia coach will take over the men's U19 national squad previously led by Sándor Preisinger, who left his post in September.

During his career as a player, 39-year-old Márton Oross represented ETO Győr, Kecskemét, Gyirmót and Haladás, and at the beginning of his career also appeared in the Hungarian youth national teams. He finished his professional career at Gyirmót, where he'd also been working as a youth coach in his final years. From there, he went back to ETO, where he coached the U12, U19 and then the U17 teams, before joining the Illés Academy in March 2018, where he coached the U17 and U19 age groups, also serving as a video analyst and department leader.

As an MLSZ coach, Oross will take over the 2002 age group, which took part in last year's European Championships and World Championships, from Sándor Preisinger, who left the MLSZ staff in September, and will hold his first squad get-together next week.

"It is an honour to have been considered for this position and I am very pleased to be invited to join the federation," Oross commented to mlsz.hu "This age group has achieved excellent results recently and I will do my best to make the team a success in the future. In recent years I have talked a lot with Sándor Preisinger about the team because I worked with the same age group in Szombathely, so I know the national players of the national team and the age group well and I'm really looking forward to starting to work with the boys".
