MOL Hungarian Cup: Draw made for the last 32
The draw for the 4th round of the MOL Hungarian Cup has been made, the highlights being a top-tier contest between Hungarian league league leaders Kisvárda and 12-time former winners MTK Budapest, and a capital-city appointment for Paks, who scored 9 goals in the previous round, in the form of a trip to III. kerület of Budapest.
Every OTP Bank Liga team successfully negotiated the 3rd round of the MOL Hungarian Cup and therefore entered the 4th-round draw last Sunday evening. The teams were drawn in the M4 Sport studio by Sándor Krizán, a former Under-18 European Championship winner with Hungary in 1984.
There are no more restrictions on pairings in the 4th round, meaning that top-tier teams could be drawn to face each other on a single-match basis, the ties being scheduled to take place on Wednesday 27th October.
Thus, defending champions Újpest will face, BMTE, formerly of Hungarian top tier last season. NBII side Vasas will take on NB III outfit Jászberény while there will be all-top tier clashes in the form of Kisvárda vs MTK and ZTE against Honvéd. There will also be one tie involving only NB III teams, Nagykanizsa due to face Tatabánya.
Other highlights include the 2019 winners, MOL Fehérvár FC, travelling to Budapest to take on BVSC-Zugló, while Puskás Akadémia will play away at WkW ETO FC Győr and Fradi face a tricky trip to Tököl.
