Clearly with Thursday's Europa League play-off 2nd leg against FK Suduva in mind, Fradi coach Serhiy Rebrov opted to name a quasi-reserve lineup for this league match at the Pancho Aréna and the gamble looked to be paying off when Stefan Spirovski gave the visitors a 12th-minute lead.

Puskás Akadémia were error-strewn early on, especially in defence, rarely threatening in the final third either but somehow they sorted out their problems to the extent that the home side equalised five minutes before half-time, Bence Sós' fiercely-struck shot restoring parity after a wayward Fradi pass.

This momentum continued into the second period when Josip confidently slotted a penalty kick past Dávid Gróf in the away-team goal just before the hour mark and the game was ended as a contest thanks to the home team's counter-attacks which yielded two goals for substitute Jozef Urblík in the space of five minutes towards the end of the match.
