Rossi: Germany will be toughest June opponents

Hungary's head coach believes Germany will be the toughest of all his team's Nations League opponents this month.

Hungary will play against Germany in their third fixture of the Nations League on Saturday evening (20:45 ko). Hansi Flick's team has drawn against both England and Italy, so they are currently in third place on the table, while Hungary is second with three points.

At an official press conference ahead of Saturday's clash, Marco Rossi emphasised that only a disciplined, organised game can be used to compete against the world's leading opponents, following and following tactical instructions.

"We had little time to prepare in addition to regeneration, but we've tried our best to prepare tactically for Germany," Rossi said to the waiting cameras.

"It will be clear tomorrow how well the players can handle the situation which has been forced upon them. Sallai had some minor problems with yesterday’s training and András Schäfer is not available due to a one-match ban, so changes are expected at the start.

Against England, we produced the best performance since I’ve been sitting on the national team’s bench. Against the Italians, several mistakes slipped into our game, and against a rival of this strength, even the slightest mistake will often have to pay an expensive price. I'm satisfied that in the previous matches we didn't allow much space for the opponent and that the players followed the instructions,

We played football in an organised way, which is the only way to compete with rivals of this strength. It is important that everyone keeps their feet on the ground and maintains realistic expectations of the team."

Rossi added that Dániel Gazdag, who has joined up with the team, will be assessed for next week's maths. He's not trained for eight to nine days and is currently not in a position to be sent on the pitch against the Germans. The strength of Szabolcs Schön is not ideal either.

Of our three opponents in June, Germany are in the best condition, they may be the most dangerous to us, so this is why they may shine brightest. It will be difficult to play our own game against them, but we will strive to do that and I trust that it will be reflected in the result,” Rossi concluded.
