Rossi: We had to suffer for win against Armenia

According to Hungary's head coach, his team could have made the match easier for themselves by taking better advantage of the situation, but overall, they still deserved the three points.
Hungary defeated Armenia 2-0 in the Puskás Arena on Saturday with maiden international goals from forwards Dániel Lukács and Zsombor Gruber. After the match, head coach Marco Rossi had the following thoughts on the match:
"We kept the ball well in the first half, took few risks and tried to move the opposing players out of their defensive positions by rotating the ball, but we weren't able to finish the two or three chances we created. We should have made better decisions in front of the opponent's goal and we also made too many unforced errors, which is why we were unable to intensify our attacking play. We made good tactical decisions, controlled the game and deservedly won the match in the second half, even if we have to admit that we had to suffer for the victory. With a little more luck, we could have secured the success sooner, but it was proven once again that if you don't convert your chances, you make your own life very difficult. Armenia have several players of high quality and our opponent is strong in a low block, so is able to lead swift attacks from the balls they win, which then create a goal threat. The main thing is that we got the three points, but it was clear that it will be very difficult to win or even just draw against them away from home. First comes Portugal though, who are stronger than the other three teams in the group. We'll try to play on Tuesday in a way that doesn't put our goal under constant pressure and we'll try to get the most out of that match," Rossi concluded.
