Rossi: We need to be prepared to suffer for the three points

Hungary Men trained on Wednesday evening in Yerevan, the venue for Thursday's World Cup qualifier, having earlier trained in Telki on Tuesday morning, before setting off for Armenia's capital city, where they arrived at 20:45 local time after a three-hour flight.

On Wednesday morning, the players took a short walk in a park in Yerevan, and in the evening, the team trained at the Vazgen Sargsyan Stadium, the venue for Thursday's match. Of the travelling squad members, only Donát Bárány is not completely healthy, so he continues to train separately from the team.

Before Wednesday's training session, national head coach Marco Rossi and defender Milos Kerkez answered journalists' questions.

"After their defeat of Republic of Ireland, Armenia showed us how difficult it is to play against them too," Rossi admitted. "It'd be foolish to underestimate them, because they're a very dangerous team, especially when areas open up for their quicker players. I expect a similar attitude from my team as in the previous four matches; we have to put pressure on the home team, because if we let them play, they can be dangerous. We've come here to win the match, because only with a win can we put ourselves in a good position before the last round of fixtures. If we manage to win, we will dedicate the victory to the memory of Márton Fülöp, who passed away ten years ago. It'll not be easy for us, and I'm sure we'll have to suffer for the three points, but we'll enter the pitch tomorrow motivated and prepared."

Meanwhile, left-back Kerkez highlighted Armenia's remarkable fighting spirit when asked about the strength of the home team. "Armenia are a very good team, real warriors who fight hard for each other on the pitch. I'm happy that Barnabás Varga and Roland Sallai are back, because they are two very important players for us," explained the Liverpool defender, who revealed that jet lag has affected him a bit, but there'll be no trace of it on the pitch on Thursday.

The match will start at 18:00 CET and the referee will be Spain's José María Sánchez, who'll be assisted by his compatriots Raúl Cabañero, Iñigo Prieto, Valentín Gómez, Carlos del Cerro Grande and Juan Martínez Munuera. Group F's standings see Hungary in second spot with five points, five behind Portugal with 10 points, and one ahead of Republic of Ireland on four, while Armenia prop up the group on three points.
