Rossi: We've earnt the right to play these teams
Hungary Men's head coach Marco Rossi spoke at the start of Friday’s press conference about how he, his staff and his players are all aware of the size of the tasks ahead of them and the level and quality of play their next opponents possess.
"On paper, we have four almost impossible missions in terms of results... but not in terms of performance. As usual, we have thoroughly analysed each of our opponents. The great opportunity in front of us is to improve from match to match in certain aspects. That was my goal (when I took this job) four years ago. We are aware that one of the teams in Division A of the Nations League will slip back to a lower level, but we will do everything we can to ensure that it won't be us. We're able to play against such opponents now because we fought for it. We have the will to win and we will try to offer as much as possible", Rossi said.
When asked by a journalist, Hungary's Italian coach confirmed Attila Szalai is completely healthy and will play, almost certainly from the start. He went on to state that interms of the squad, all the players know exactly how important good performances will be.
"We're hoping for a good result and that our fans will be able to see some hard-to-forget moments in an enjoyable game. We need to follow the tactical instructions fully and play football in a compact way in both defence and attack. But perhaps more importantly, we need to take on these challenges without any fear, no matter who the opponent is", Rossi added.
Thereafter, Hungary defender Ádám Lang spoke of, amongst other things, the national team having made progress in the recent past and the players wanting to maintain the organised, stable defence which now characterises the team, while also keeping the ball more.
"We want to prove we've evolved. Everyone is looking forward to the next match - it will be a serious challenge, but it's good to play against such opponents! We can test ourselves; I think that’s how everyone in the team thinks. I feel good and it’s always a pleasure to join up with the national team. The mood is good, but there's not been any problem with this in the last few years, and this is essential for us to be able to perform well on the pitch in all four Nations League matches", Lang concluded.
