Semi-final stalemate in Men's Hungarian Cup
MOL Fehérvár led against Mezőkövesd but were pegged back late on, while MTK and Honvéd played out a goalless draw in Saturday's Hungarian Cup semi-final first legs, both played behind closed doors. The second legs will be played this coming week.

There was an enthusiasic but error-strewn start to this match but Fehérvár settled more quickly and began to dominate the first half, Máté Pátkai putting the Székesfehévár club ahead in the twelfth minute with a header from a curious, almost seated position following a free-kick. Joan Carilo's team remained in the ascendancy until the dying embers of the half when Mezőkövesd were only denied an equaliser by the woodwork.
It was a more even affair after the half-time break but the visitors created more of the chances, notwithstanding that the best opportunity actually fell to the hosts. Fehérvár seemed to be ready to settle for a single-goal victory as the game wore on while Mezőkövesd predictably became more adventurous. Indeed, the hosts found the equaliser they were looking for just ten minutes from the end of normal time when Pillár capitalised on a defensive error to leave the tie intriguingly balanced at 1-1 going into Tuesday's second leg in Székesfehérvár.
MTK Budapest (NB II) 0–0 Budapest Honvéd
Új Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion, behind closed doors, ref.: Erdős
Yellow cards: MTK: Palincsár (82.), HON: Lovric (56.), Gazdag (59.)
MTK Budapest: Varga B. – Fülöp N., Katona M., Varju, Pintér Á. – Mezei (Bognár I., 69.), Palincsár, Cseke – Lencse (Bíró, 69.), Schön (Gera, 69.), Prosser
Budapest Honvéd: Tujvel – Mezgrani, Lovric, Niba, Uzoma – Nagy G., Hidi – Gazdag (Ugrai, 76.), Lanzafame (Kesztyűs, 90.), Moutari (Kukoc, 76.) – George.
Honvéd started on the front foot in this encounter but MTK soon started to penetrate the away team's defence and test Tujvel in the Honvéd goal. The visitors were slow and ponderous in and out of possession, which allowed MTK to threaten on numerous occasions, albeit they made none of them count.
The second half continued in the same vein, second-division MTK attacking and top-tier Honvéd defending, but Hidi did belatedly manage to hit the woodwork for the latter and Lanzafame also struck a dangerous free-kick which just failed to yield the opening goal. Although MTK were dominating overall, it was Honvéd who missed the game's best chance, George shooting straight at MTK goalkeeper Varga from just ten metres out. Tuesday's second leg will see both teams make their competitive debut at the new Puskás Aréna due to Honvéd's stadium not yet having finished its period of reconstruction.
