Three fresh faces and several returnees feature in latest Hungary squad
Hungary men’s head coach Marco Rossi has called up three potential debutants to his squad for the friendly matches against Slovenia and Greece later this month, while several former squad members will return following varying lengths of absence from the international scene.
Marco Rossi has announced a 25-man squad for the first two matches of the year, Márk Csinger, Tamás Szűcs and Áron Yaakobishvili making their maiden appearances in a full, national-team squad.

“We’ve been monitoring these players for a very long time, so we decided to invite them not only based on their current form, but also on our long-term assessments,” Rossi told mlsz.hu about his selection principles. “Unfortunately, there are a few established squad members who are not currently in the form required, so this gives us an excellent opportunity to select several uncapped players, while we’d also like to see Redzic and Bárány again in training and these matches. This is the right time (including our June matches) to discover whether any of them could benefit the national team in the long term.”
The national team will host Slovenia on 28th March at the Puskás Arena, before facing Greece in the same stadium three days later.
“Both are very good teams, especially in terms of their midfield and attacking areas”, Rossi explained. “Sesko and Sporar are outstanding for Slovenia, while for Greece we can also mention Pavlidis and Bakasetas as just two of their most impressive players. Overall, we must match up against two very dangerous teams, something which is also very clear by the high value of their squads, but at the same time, in order to improve, we need to play against such difficult opponents.”
Hungary’s national squad members will start their preparations in Telki on Monday 23rd March 2026.
