Lanzafame decides the big Budapest derby

Hungarian league leaders Ferencváros extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points after a second-half goal from striker Davide Lanzafarme proved to be the difference between the hosts and their visitors Újpest FC in front of a capacity crowd at the Groupama Aréna on Saturday.
This was the 224th meeting between the two teams, 102 of those seeing the Green Eagles prevail and only 61 claimed by those in purple and white, with a further 61 fixtures resulting in draws.
Elsewhere, 2nd-placed Honvéd emerged pointless from the Pancho Aréna after Puskás Akadémia's Knezevic notched the winning goal after just 16 minutes, Debrecen dispatched top-tier debutants Kisvarda 3-1 thanks to a Tibor Takács double, Haladás' woes continued with a 3-1 home loss to Paks, MTK and Mezőkövesd took a point apiece from their 2-2 draw in the New Nándor Hidegkuti stadium in Budapest and MOL Vidi secured a useful away win at struggling Diosgyőr courtesy of Szabolcs Huszti's 69th-minute winner.
