 UEFA men's U21 European Championship to stay in 2021

Although some youth European Championship finals tournaments have been cancelled due to the coronavirus, the Under-21 men's European Championship will go ahead next year as planned. The tournament, to be jointly hosted by Hungary and Slovenia, will proceeed with the same number of matches and teams as originally planned with the one major change being that the group- and knockout stages will take place in two different periods.


The group stages will be held between 24th and 31st March, two months after which the knockout matches will be played, between 31st May and 6th June. In March, the group A fixtures will be hosted in the Bozsik Stadium in Budapest and the MOL Aréna Sóstó in Székesfehérvár while group C will find homes in Szombathely and Gyirmót.

Regarding the Hungarian venues of the knockout stages, the Bozsik Stadium will host a quarter-final tie and the MOL Aréna Sóstó will be the scene of one quarter-final and one semi-final.
