Europa League: Fradi claim three points in Belgium

Ferencváros posted their first away win in the league phase of the Europa League by defeating Genk 1-0 in Belgium on Thursday evening, striker Barnabás Varga heading in the only goal late in the first half.
Robbie Keane's side were starved of the ball for long periods, but we're disciplined in their approach and ultimately more clinical with their goalscoring opportunities, despite Varga seeing his early second-half penalty down the centre of the Genk goal saved by home keeper Hendrik van Crombrugge. By that point the Hungary international striker had already superbly headed his team into a 44th-minute lead following a Jonathan Levi cross from the right.
Genk did threaten thereafter, Jarne Steuckers striking the right post in the 54th minute and Dibusz being called upon to save on more than one occasion, but overall, Ferencváros were worth their win for a classic away performance, one which leaves them 11th in the 36-team Europa League table, on four points from two matches. They next face RB Salzburg away at 17:45 on 23rd October.
