Haladás regain men's futsal league title

A rollercoaster fourth leg of the Hungarian men's futsal championship final saw Haladás eventually defeat Scoregoal Kecsmemét 5-4, thereby securing the championship title 3-1 in the best-of-five series between this season's top two league teams.

Haladás, winners of the previous three Hungarian championships, seemed destined for victory for much of this third match, talismanic forward Zoltán Dróth scoring after just 41 seconds and Balázs Rutai doubling the advantage before half-time.

Felipe Conde extended that lead to three early in the second half and although Kecskemét pulled one back, an own goal then seemed to have ended the contest, only for Kecskemét to remarkably score three goals in quick succession to level the scores at 4-4.

Three minutes from time though, Haladás's Henrique Diniz delivered the knockout blow in the form of a decisive fifth goal and there was to be no further reposte from their opponents. Thus, Haladás secured their fourth consecutive league championship title.

Zoltán Dróth commented to M4 Sport afterwards, having now won ten Hungarian futsal titles in his career:

"Perhaps we've won many more matches such as these than Kecskemét have, since they are a young team. We need to congratulate them, because they battled hard, but it's still we who are Hungary's best team! It would have been interesting if this final had gone to a fifth leg, because I and others received our fifth yellow cards of the season today and would have been suspended for that game, but luckily we'll never know."
