Hungary handed tough 2024/25 Nations League draw

Hungary Men have been drawn to face Netherlands, Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Division A of the group phase of the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League. 

Head coach Marco Rossi's team will be facing Germany for the third time in four tournament campaigns following their meetings at Euro 2020 and later this year at Euro 2024, while their last fixture against Netherlands came back in 2013 during World Cup qualifying. Hungary's most recent encounter with Bosnia and Herzegovina came during the Euro 2008 qualification campaign.

"At this level, it is impossible to draw weak opponents, so only strong rivals await us in the autumn (when these matches will be played)", Rossi commented immediately after the draw. "On paper, Netherlands and Germany are better teams than us while we can expect Bosnia and Herzegovina to be of a similar strength to ourselves. However, form on paper doesn't always translate to that displayed on the pitch and surprises can be sprung in any match - for us, good ones and bad ones. It'll be interesting to measure ourselves again against Germany and the two games against the Dutch will be exciting too", Hungary's head coach concluded.
