HUNGARY UNDER-19S HOLD FIRST SQUAD GET-TOGETHER OF THE YEAR
Hungary Under-19 team head coach Antal Németh invited several newcomers to join the squad's four-day training camp in Telki.
Having negotiated their way through their European Championship qualification group unbeaten in the autumn, the Hungary Under-19 team face hosts Croatia, Germany and Norway in the elite round in March for a place in the finals. Head coach Antal Németh invited only a few players from the European Championship qualifying squad to the first get-together of the new year, instead calling up several players who haven’t yet been involved with the Under-19s but warranted their inclusion due to fine recent club form.
The players took part in five training sessions over the four-day period, the last day seeing half of the squad take on Csákvár, and the other half Budaörs in different training matches.
“We’ve gained a useful insight into the players’ condition and have also been able to get acquainted with players who have a great chance of being involved with the national team in the future. I was very happy with the performance in three of the four halves in the training matches, and I’m especially happy that I saw a number of good individual performances; these four days have been of great benefit in helping us be in the best possible shape come the elite round in March” said Németh following the get-together.
