Journalists to vote for Hungarian footballers of 2018

Online voting for the best sportsmen and women of 2018 has started, members of the Hungarian Sportswriters' Association (MSÚSZ) being given the chance to vote for the 61st year but this time in men's and women's categories.


The M4 Sport – Sportperson of the Year 2018 gala organised by MSÚSZ will be screened live on television from its now-traditional venue of the National Theatre at 20:00 CET on Thursday 14th February 2019.

This year it will be possible to vote for the men's and women's footballers of the year in separate categories but there will also be two other awards in which football may feature, Coach of the Year, for which MOL Vidi's Marko Nikolic is nominated and Team of the Year, in which MOL Vidi stand a chance of victory, both these nominations reflecting Vidi's twin achievements of winning the Hungarian league title and reaching the group stages of the UEFA Europa League this autumn just gone.

Meanwhile, this year's Goal of the Year award will be decided on the basis of a public vote from 14th January on M4 Sport's website and the Hungarian Football Federation's Lifetime Merit award recipient will be decided by the governing body's presidential board.
