Marco Rossi: Turkey made us pay for every mistake

Hungary's head coach feels both teams made mistakes, but while we paid for all ours, Turkey weren't made to.
Hungary matched their hosts in Istanbul, but in their 1000th international match in its history, the visitors suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Turkey, who took advantage of their chances in clinical fashion.
"We didn’t deserve to lose, especially by two goals, but we paid for all our mistakes today. The opponent also made mistakes, but they didn't pay such a high price for them, because we didn’t take advantage of our opportunities, despite creating more of them than the home team," Rossi admitted. "Unfortunately, in the second half, every well-contested situation fell the way of our opponent and we conceded two goals in ten minutes. Against an opponent of this calibre, we can't allow ourselves periods like this. At that point, we had to give up our tactical plan, as well as take off Schäfer, and then Zsolt Nagy, both of whom will be missing for the second leg due to suspension, while Güler and Demilar will return for Turkey. All this shows that we'll have a very difficult task at home, but as long as I'm sitting on the bench (as head coach), we will not give up and will give everything we have! In the meantime, the most important task will be to regenerate and rebuild self-confidence. We want to make our fans proud on Sunday, and we can achieve this not by playing fantastically or doing great things on the field, but simply by winning!"
