Rossi: Bosnia play at same level we do
Head coach Marco Rossi told Sunday's Nations League pre-match press conference that Hungary are on an equal footing with Bosnia and therefore he expects an even match tomorrow evening.
The Hungary men's national team will take on their Bosnian counterparts in Senica at 20:45 on Monday 14th October, already in the knowledge that opponent players Barisic and Demirovic will definitely not play against them due to suspension.
From the squad due travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marco Rossi will have to do without Pál Dárdai, who did not travel to Senica with the team due to a minor injury, but everyone else took part in the training session held in Telki on Sunday morning before the team's journey to Bosnia.
The squad arrived in Sarajevo after an approximate 50-minute flight, from where they took a bus to Senica, the venue of Monday's match.
At the press conference before the game, journalists directed questions towards Hungary's head coach as well as to goalkeeper Dénes Dibusz:
"Botond Balogh trained with us for the first time today due to his recent injury, but it would be a bit risky to send him to the pitch tomorrow", Rossi said. "There are always difficulties, injuries, but everyone is of use to the team. Obviously it's not the most comfortable thing to do without anyone, but there's complete confidence in the current squad and we aren't worried about any absences. In our group, Germany and the Netherlands are on a completely different shelf to Hungary and Bosnia=Herzegovina. We're roughly on par with Bosnia, so I expect an even match tomorrow. Most important of all, we're here to get the three points, so we'll do everything we can to achieve that. Since the beginning of the previous Nations League camp (in September), we've been working to solve the problems which arose during the European Championship. The most important thing for us is team unity and we proved this in the match against the Netherlands."
"There are quite a few changes in defence, but whoever is picked to play a certain position knows their job," goalkeeper Dibusz said, meanwhile. "In the last two games, everyone has proven they can defend in a focused way, helping each other out to make the team successful. As far as the Bilino Polje stadium is concerned, obviously we knew we wouldn't be greeted by the conditions we experience in the Puskás Arena, but we can play a completely fair match in this stadium too; we have to face the opponent tomorrow, not the pitch. After the game against the Netherlands, we were disappointed because we felt there could have been more in it for us, but based on the pattern of the match, it was a fair result. I haven't asked my Bosnian teammate Muhamed Bešić about the city or the stadium, unfortunately he wasn't selected for the Bosnia squad this time. In August, I played with Ferencváros against FK Borac Banja Luka from Bosnia, which gave me an insight into Bosnian football, so I can say it definitely won't be easy tomorrow."
