Rossi: It's very possible to lose to Germany like this
Hungary head coach Marco Rossi lauded the mentality of his team after the 2-0 defeat to Germany and said he expects the same from his players against Scotland in their final Euro 2024 group match on Sunday.
"We fought, we struggled, we put a lot of work into the match and we had chances, but the little luck we mentioned we needed unfortunately left us," Rossi admitted.
"I'm proud of the players' performances, but this is how you can lose to Germany, because their team is full of world-class players. Our tactics worked - we tried to push them to the wings, but our central defenders were often late. Germany deserved the victory, but I feel that they also received some external help, which they didn't need at all."
"As for the last game against Scotland, the only way we can approach that encounter is to try to stay alive for as long as we can. It'll be a difficult match regardless of how much of a chance we have to advance, and I want our attitude to be perfect in that match too. We have to give our fans what they want from us, that is, we have to give our all."
