Rossi open to agreeing international return with Nikolics
Hungary's head coach is remaining true to the principles everyone has been aware of since his appointment in the national-team setup.
The question has been asked in regard to ex-Hungary striker Nemanja Nikolics, who has returned from abroad to play for former club MOL Fehérvár. Nikolics' last national-team appearance was against Scotland on 27th March 2018 before the then Chicago Fire striker retired from international duty due to the long distances involved in travelling to and from fixtures. On Sunday evening, however, Nikolics stated on the Góóól! Television programme on M4 Sport that he'd be happy to discuss the matter with Marco Rossi. In response, Hungary's head coach has had this to say:
"The door is always open to every player who, from a physical, tactical and technical point of view, is flexible and ready to help the national team. Neither Nikolics nor anyone else is an exception to this, so however much he'd like to meet me, I'm also open to this".
The Hungarian men's national team will next take to the pitch to play Bulgaria in Sofia on 26th March, the squad for which is scheduled to be named by Rossi ten days earlier on 16th March.
