Rossi: We weren't effective enough
Hungary men's national-team head coach Marco Rossi professed himself to be satisfied with a point in Montenegro based on his team's performance yesterday evening.
Rossi spoke after Hungary's 0-0 draw away against Montenegro in Podgorica, saying some of the team hadn't played their best games, so with this in mind, a draw is an acceptable result.
"We're happy with the point gained, because we didn't really play well and several of our players didn't have their best days", Rossi admitted.
"We'd definitely have lost this kind of match in the past, but this time we've earnt a point and we're still in contention to achieve our aim, which is very important. We had 60% possession of the ball in the match but we took fewer shots than the opponent, which means we weren't effective enough. We couldn't get in front of the home team's goal, therefore we were forced to shoot from distance. We need to keep both feet on the ground because although we're on the right track and developing well, we are not amongst the top European teams. On Tuesday, a different type of match awaits us and we'll have to play a different way".
